As an almost veteran in tasting Czech beer, I think it is my duty to create a beer trail in Brno. Brno is not the beautiful capital of Prague, but it is still the second biggest town of Czech Republic and a tiny Silicon Valley of Europe. It became a really important concentration of many international companies and it has a huge expat community.
Germany. Perhaps the best place to start is a country famous for its beer, Germany. Indeed, it is here that you will find some of the best breweries in the world among the 1,300 in operation, the highest number in any one country bar in the United States. The choices are, therefore, numerous. Perhaps the Benedictine Abbey Weihenstephan Brewery Founded in 1869, the Staropramen brewery is the largest in Prague and the second largest in the Czech Republic. It uses the unique Saaz Hops (mainly from the Zatec hop growing region ) and you can smell the sweet smell of malt brewing when you walk anywhere around Smichov area.
